im afraid i can't provide links... what i can provide is an example from my own experience on reading about him...

exhibit A... his digital fortress... the thing is a friggin' carbon copy of sidney sheldon's doomsday conspiracy! the plot outline, the way the characters must accomplish a goal and how they would've to do it i have to say is a blatant rip-off...

and thats not including his propensity to stretch his parahraphs with a smorgasbord of adjectives and inaccuracies he labels as "facts"...

...and thats just about digital fortress, still failing to mention his other works...

umberto eco's focault's pendulum is each and every way superior to DVC, loaded with dozens upon dozens of references to actually back his story up, witty characters and all...

but what the hell, it requires patience to truly enjoy and isn't as accessible as DVC...

Even the 'trashiest' of Eco's works (tNotR) shits all over Brown's 'best'.
It might not be fair to cite Digital Fortress, which is possibly Brown's
worst. I shudder to think he could sink lower. The way he introduces
the female lead reads more like cheap online porn: you know, the sort
of physical description that's clumsy prelude to rumpy-pumpy.
