What do you mean that the industry is claiming the cost of the rights for known name boxers would cost more than they would profit in sales
?
What industry, the gaming industry? EA Sports is a game development company slash publisher. EA is NOT an industry dude.
Here are the unit sale figures for FNC @ Xbox 360 and PS3.
Xbox 1.1 Million

PS3: 0.78 Million

Total: 1.88 Million Units
Gross Revenue: $112,880,000.00
It probably cost EA at least 50 million to develop and market FNC. Probably more like 70 million, but we'll stick with 50. Under 3 million units for TWO consoles is a blunder for units sold in a AAA game. I'm not going to argue those numbers because I know what I'm talking about.
EA will never make another Fight Night and nobody is asking for it besides a few Boxing fans.
Its not about being creative, its about development cost. They need an entirely new engine, dedicated servers, and an improved anti-cheat. All of those are big ticket items.
