Everyone is calling for EA to create a Fight Night Round 5 or Fight Night champion 2, but the industry is claiming the cost of the rights for known name boxers would cost more than they would profit in sales.

Now to my point: why does EA and other game designers think it's necessary to use real boxers?

Why can't they be creative enough to make a quality boxing game with imaginary characters but make it such a fun game that it wouldn't even make a difference? That way, the boxing fans would have a quality, fun, and realistic boxing game and the company wouldn't have to spend so much. Common sense anyone?
I paragraphed that up for you for easier reading.

Nobody is calling for EA to make another fight night. Sales sucked for the last two. Got a source for this 'everybody' fact check?

What do you mean that the industry is claiming the cost of the rights for known name boxers would cost more than they would profit in sales
    ?

What industry, the gaming industry? EA Sports is a game development company slash publisher. EA is NOT an industry dude.

Here are the unit sale figures for FNC @ Xbox 360 and PS3.

    Xbox 1.1 Million
    Source: http://www.vgchartz.com/game/46220/f...ight-champion/

    PS3: 0.78 Million
    Source: http://www.vgchartz.com/game/46221/f...ight-champion/

    Total: 1.88 Million Units
    Gross Revenue: $112,880,000.00

It probably cost EA at least 50 million to develop and market FNC. Probably more like 70 million, but we'll stick with 50. Under 3 million units for TWO consoles is a blunder for units sold in a AAA game. I'm not going to argue those numbers because I know what I'm talking about.

EA will never make another Fight Night and nobody is asking for it besides a few Boxing fans.

Its not about being creative, its about development cost. They need an entirely new engine, dedicated servers, and an improved anti-cheat. All of those are big ticket items.

Fight night sold more games than UFC. The excuse is the licensing

EA profits so damn much anyways.

Make the damn game, people would buy it if UFC could fight boxers

An actual good boxing sim game with great story and characters and a halfway decent budget would get word of mouth from the gaming industry if it was made by a big company for the main markets. No ones ever gonna take a chance on that though, so I should just stop dreaming.
Great idea I noticed that hajme no ippo is pretty popular

I thought Prizefighter was more realistic and a lot more fun than anything EA ever produced.

Fight Night is a losing IP as seen here in PROOF:

                Fight Night Round 4

                1.42 Million (360)
                http://www.vgchartz.com/game/21870/fight-night-round-4/

                1.52 Million (PS3)
                http://www.vgchartz.com/game/21869/fight-night-round-4/

EA and UFC have a contract for multiple years/titles. UFC 3 will probably be the last on that contract if the units sold are less than 2. From UFC 1 to UFC 2 there is a GROWTH in sales. Do you understand what GROWTH means vs LOSS?

                Source: https://www.polygon.com/gaming/2012/...me-partnership

                Proof of Fight Night LOSS'
                1.42m (FN4/360)
                1.11M (FNC/XB1) LOSS
                1.52M (FN4/PS3)
                0.78M (FNC/PS4) LOSS

As a company that is open for profitable business, you have to pull the plug and take a chance on whats hot and UFC is hot for that age demographic. Fight Night was a losing market as the above figures indicate.

2.94 million in total sales to 1.88 million = 176.4 million to 112.8 million in sales. That's a loss of 63.6 million.

The IP was hemorrhaging money at an exponential rate.

Where is your EA licensing source? Oo wait, there is none. Until you got proof from a reputable source (EA Sports), don't make up rumors.

                Proof of UFC GROWTH:

You're ignorant and I'm not mad. The game was losing money so they signed a contract with UFC. They can't afford to make both and took the chance on UFC. They're closing IPs ******. Do you know what that means? Games are getting shut down because it costs too much money. Tiger Woods got shut down and wont be the last.

You're lying about the licensing. Get a source or STFU mong.
