The question isn't if Arum made them stars. That's his job. The question is why did Dlh and Floyd leave Top Rank if Arum made them stars. It goes both ways. Arum puts them in position, and the fighters do the rest.

Because they knew they had built their star power up enough to thrive on their own (or in Floyd's case, star power in the future by fighting DLH). They knew they could make more money without Top Rank in the picture, and loyalty went out the window.

Make no doubt about it though, Top Rank definitely helped their careers a significant amount.
