One loss doesn't end a career. Ask Lewis and Klitschko about that. Besides, if AJ didn't fight Ruiz next, someone else would and would beat him and he'd never get those belts again.

Or he's just a guy that's sure of himself and knows that boxing doesn't define who he is as a person. He knows you can't win them all and there is nothing you can do about the past but press on with the future and try his best next time he steps in the ring. One loss isn't the end of a career. It's sad fans nowadays see it that way but turn around and praise guys of the past with multiple losses. Let's wait and see how he looks in the ring before calling it a wrap on someone's career after one loss.

AJ is at a crossroads right now and he needs to fix his flaws which have been the same for the start of his career...Endurance and spacing. it might be time for a new trainer and i'm not convince that he will be able to do the job in the rematch. Ruiz by the power of attrition...... AJ is Frank Bruno if "Social Media" existed in the 80s and 90s

Josh flattens Ruiz in the rematch and Ruiz gets paid. Then Ruiz would be on DAZN for one or two more fights than retire to snickers factory and live happily ever after.
