Mentally ill white men is a problem this country refuses to address

I usually don't agree with Jimmy Carter and his policies and he's usually thought of as a very unsuccessful president by historians and the masses, but one thing he did right was expanding mental healthcare in the 1970s. In many ways he was ahead of his time on this issue. One of the few things he got right during his presidency.

Another factor is that the Pharmaceutical companies have a lot of influence in politics pushing a lot of these psychotropic drugs that may exacerbate the problems. I remember watching a debate between Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders last year on CNN, although both of them don't agree much, they both agreed that the pharmaceutical companies have too much influence on politics.

Bernie talked about how there's a mental crisis going on in this country and it's connection to mass shootings. Hillary didn't have much to say on it, she was more about going after the NRA. I wonder if it's because the pharmaceutical companies own her ass..

After every mass shooting we get the same excuse. "He was mentally ill", yet this country fails to address this problem.

I'm not a white male so I can't speak on what's going on with white men and their mental wellness.

I know the government has been cutting mental illness funding since Reagan.

Mental illness is just as important as physical illness.

One of the biggest issues is how society wants to treat mentally ill or just straight up weird people with mental issues. Look at johnny over there, no emotion, talks to himself, and has dark thoughts. Let's just love him just the way he is.

No dumb*ss. Johnny has serious issues. Let's get his ass some medical treatment and a psychiatrist. People want to be so damn accepting which is a fairy tale because in the real world some people need help and need guidance, whether that be drugs or just talking to someone. Perfect example is when you think you are someone you are not. Instead of getting treatment for it, we'll just accept that and love you the way you are even tho statistically, you are more likely to kill yourself. Our society is dumb beyond belief.
