  • Comments Thread For: Odlanier Solis' Return is Being Targeted For March 22

Cuban heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KOs) is going to return on March 22nd in Berlin, according to his promoter Ahmet Oner of Arena Box Promotions. Eurosport will reportedly carry the event. The Olympic gold medal badly injured his knee in a first round TKO loss to Vitali Klitschko in early 2011. He was out of action until May 2012, when he won a ten round unanimous decision over Konstantin Airich. Oner had peviously told BoxingScene.com that Solis was close to a deal to face Wladimir Klitschko on April 6th, but the champion's team went in another direction.

My recollection is that it was not a TKO, it was a KO.

Im happy that they finally found a date for Solis. Hopefully it will not be cancelled once again. And they have yet to find an opponent.
Hopefully Solis will be much lighter as in his last fight. He was a fat 268 pounds against Airich.

It's all about what kind of shape he shows up in. He has a last chance if he gets serious about his career.

lets see if you can lose enough weight to keep your knees from blowing out under the pressure of keeping your upper body upright.

if this guy comes in over 235 i'm turning my back on him. if he can somehow do things in the division in his current state i still won't appreciate him.

this guy is fat. literally, he's fat. what the f#ck is wrong with this picture?

if he's a factor in his current state it's more of a testament to how awful HW boxing is right now than how good solis is.

the only thing i really care about right now is the scale. 270 lbs? who the hell does this guy think he is. if i were his promotor i'd be insulted.

How many times has Solis targetted a return? Don't bank on it people.
