WWII veteran to graduate 68 years after leaving college

I thought this was a nice story.

The University of Toledo reviewed Bob Barger's transcript from the late 40s and determined he had completed enough coursework for an associate's degree, which the school didn't offer when he was a student. The 96-year old is set to graduate officially this Saturday.

He dropped out after studying for 3 years while also working, when he decided between his career taking off well enough without it and starting a family it was no longer a priority.

They are the greatest generation.... my uncle mike won the bronze star, two Purple Hearts, and some other heroic things... he’s buried at a National Cemetary... I got his m1carbine that he used to kill Chinese in North Korea.... I said it a few years ago... my uncle would not talk about it, but I’m kinda a strong history buff... he said the Chinese were like ants, he’d kill a few, and they just kept coming.
