And like I said, he may have mentioned Golovkin that far back, but he was also asked in March of 2015 if he would fight at 160 and he basically said no. Golovkin said he'd move up for Froch and Chavez at the time too, yet didn't and it criticized heavily for it. DeCubas started bringing up purses too and and started with 7 figures when he wasn't even making that until 2018, while Golovkin didn't get his first million till 2015. We can talk all day about who said what and all that ****, but if Lara's team was that interested in a fight, they would have formally reached out. Promoters will go back on what they say if they money is good enough. I wanted the Lara fight years ago and wish they pursued it but it obviously never happened. Acting as if it was Lara's side that truly wanted it is a stretch. If you want something that bad, you make an offer.

i couldnt tell you...what i do know is golovkins team wasnt interested...and hid behind a network excuse....then a money/fan issue....when neither really held any weight especially since he fought cans for a couple of years

but as usual...golovkin does no wrong and no one can ever admit any sense of hesitance on his part to do anything...hes just an atg legend that was willing to fight everyone
