  • The Myth about Luis Ortiz being Older then 38 years old.

I've heard some people claiming that Ortiz is between 45 and 48 years old.

    Complete rubbish.

His official age is 38 years old and his amateur record proves that to be correct.

His first major amateur tournament was the Cuban Nationals in 2002 when he was 23 year old.

2002 Cuban National Championships (Playa Giron Tournament) Silver medalist in Las, Tunas (95kg):

    Defeated Michel Lopez RSC 2
    Lost to Odlanier Solis 3:9

Ortiz started his amateur career as a teenager and amassed an amateur record of 349-19 before turning Pro at 30 years old in 2010.

At 8.05 mins of this video, you can see Luis Ortiz at 26 years old from an amateur fight in 2005. He clearly looks like a man in his 20's.

Bingo nice post been trying to tell people go back to am days and you can see.But most of this comes from Joshua fanboys already trying to make an excuse to discredit Wilder should he win.Why people don't wanna see best vs best is unreal to me.And if your a REAL boxing fan then you wanna see Joshua v Wilder it will be MUCH bette for boxing then Parker v Ortiz.REAL fans should be rooting like he ll for BOTH and demand they fight next.

Just another (lame) way to shlt on Wilder in case he wins and make him seem like a super bum if he loses.

Ortiz has had that "old" look since he was a baby. It's just genetics.
