      Yes, somewhat.

When Purrity fought here where I live a few years ago, he was billed as "The Man Who Beat Wladimir Klitschko" on the fight poster at the Casino.

Most people would have forgotten about Purrity by now if not for his win over Wladimir.

But it's different for Calzaghe, because unlike Sanders and Purrity, he never lost a fight in his entire career and retired undefeated at 46-0.

Ok cool....so now Floyd's legacy can grow with Canelos career...and Hopkins can grow even more with all the youngsters he is defeating now...guess thats how the world works

Yes. The way Calzaghe slapped boxed Hopkins was epic. Calzaghe remains a all time great slapboxer.

It sure looks as Calslappy was a feather-fisted slapper. But then ... why didn't Roy Jones and Hopkins walk through those slaps and take him out?

I would love to hear if actually had some pop in those gloves.

These threads just make me laugh. If Calslappy was any good or if his fanboys believe he was we wouldn't have these threads begging for his respect. Sorry fella he just doesn't have it.

He took one risk against Kessler, which paid off. He was also a heavy favourite for the Hopkins fight, but looked like **** in a fight so bad that no-one deserved to win.

Calzaghe's career is what it is. He made good money, he kept his "0", and I doubt he gives a **** that internet nerds think he ducked a lot of good fights. He doesn't deserve people propping up his legacy. He didn't care about it, so why should we?
                Damn that's a good post!

Hopkins' achievements add to Joe's legacy, which unintentionally add to Glen Johnson's legacy, since he was ducked by Joe who beat Hopkins who is now unifying the LHW at this age.
