  • Conor McGregor reacts to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s ‘dog ****’ win at UFC 219

It took a couple days, but Conor McGregor has fired back after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s thunderous win to close out 2017.

McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, posted a series of tweets early Monday indicating that he was unimpressed by Nurmagomedov’s performance, which saw the undefeated Dagestani smash Edson Barboza in a one-sided contest at UFC 219 to the tune of 30-25 (x2) and 30-24 scores. McGregor criticized Nurmagomedov’s “sloppy” win and hinted at his own eventual return to the Octagon, stating that all the UFC needed to do was pay him what he deserved.

Not surprisingly, Nurmagomedov was quick to respond Monday morning.

Nurmagomedov (25-0) was largely dismissive of McGregor after his win Saturday night, voicing doubt that the Irishman would return to MMA until the money McGregor made from his blockbuster boxing contest against Floyd Mayweather ran dry. Nurmagomedov also said he would be willing to fight both McGregor and interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson on the same night if it came down to it — a claim that drew an equally unimpressed reaction from Ferguson.

McGregor (21-3) captured the UFC lightweight title in Nov. 2016 with a second-round knockout over Eddie Alvarez. Despite McGregor’s status as the UFC’s lightweight champion, the win over Alvarez represents McGregor’s only actual appearance at 155 pounds under the UFC banner. He has not fought in MMA since. His only action in 2017 came in his boxing debut against Mayweather, which he lost via 10th round TKO.

Speaking of Mayweather, McGregor also fired off a shot at the 40-year-old boxer Monday morning, reminding Mayweather of the realities of their Aug. 2017 fight.

What's really dog shyte IMO is that Conor hasn't been in the Octagon in over a year. He needs to defend the title or be stripped already. **** or get off the pot. Maybe when McGregor gets foot swept and ragdolled for 5 rounds, he'll be more impressed. Maybe not. But he needs to shut the hell up until he signs up for his next fight in the UFC.

after khabib's victory this past saturday, conor came out with statements like he's not impress, tell the ufc to pay him his worth and the king will be back. but how come he wasnt singing this tune when max beat aldo?

Nurmagomedov drew gasps in the UFC for claiming he'd fight twice in one night.

Meanwhile in Japan, there was an insane bantamweight tournament going on, in which Horiguchi had to win twice in one night and 3 times over 3 days.

As well as a 4-woman MMA tournament, to boot.

Also, soccer kicks, stomps, and knees on the ground.

It was the Rizin 2017 New Years Eve event, December 29 and 31.

All in all, about 13 hours or so worth of fights (and all marquee, with respect to the card).

Other than UFC and Bellator, One and Rizin are my other favorite promotions to check out as well as Invicta, thanks.

The way these two are going at it on Twitter, makes me thing McGregor may consider a return
