They aren't built like the smaller wildcats in North America, or even cheetahs.

I don't think anybody here would take on a 50 lb pitbull with their bare hands, and an 80lb mountain lion will kill a pit, Doberman, or anybody's pet. They do it here in the bay area pretty regularly, even coyotes do too.
