  • Who are we kidding? There will be no rematch...

It won't be happening anytime soon.
Fury believe he won the fight, thus there's nothing to prove anymore.
He'll move on and would rather fight in the UK for more money.
I see him taking 2 years off again, or may never come back.
Wilder needs to start considering other options.
Heck, he might not be back soon either.

You don't know anything. Expect the rematch before AJ's on April 13th.

The torch has been lit, Hearn done that by going against BT's PPV on the same night..... don't be surprised if Wilder/Fury 2 is held in the UK one week before AJ's fight.

What was the strategy behind those scorecards if not to set up a rematch?

Wilder is probably the more protected/connected fighter but not to that degree. They wouldn't make it that blatant just to preserve his zero.

They want to set up a higher earning rematch.

Honestly, if I was Fury, I Wouldn't and the reason is power. I wouldn't rematch anybody who had a big punch. Why take the risk twice? It's like rematching Julian Jackson. McClellan did it but I think he was the only one, not even Terry Norris. Hitting like a freight train is impresive but it's also cancer to a lot of guys and I wouldn't take the risk. Rematches often are a lot of BS anyway. If it's in the states again, next time, Wilder will get the decision no matter what. So I wouldn't be surprised if this never happens.

If the judges got it right nobody would see the need for a rematch.

I doubt the rematch clause covers a draw.

They rarely do. Just like the Canelo/Golovkin one didn't.

I agree, I don't think Fury is in a hurry to fight against that kind of power again. Not to mention he legitamitely feels he won. He'll take a tune up or two before fighting Wilder or a top fighter again
