  • Comments Thread For: Hughie Fury Sheds Rust Ahead of WBO Title Fight With Parker

Hughie Fury warmed up for a scheduled WBO heavyweight title challenge in September with a useful six round exhibition contest against Devon based Pole Kamil Sokolowski (4-10-2) here at London's Copper Box Arena. Promoter Frank Warren explained that the WBO wouldn't allow a competitive contest for Fury ahead of the mandatory challenge to Joseph Parker, a match postponed from May 6th in New Zealand due to a claimed back injury suffered by Fury.

No need for hope bud, the Samoan is going to knock this gypsy juicer out of the ring, infront of all the gypsies in Manchester, it will be truly glorious.

Exhibition because the WBO won't allow it ! Yeh right, dude ain't allowed to box a professional fight as he's a doper.

When Fury is in the ring opposite Parker I'll believe they're fighting, when the fight is cancelled again in September finally Parker will be able to move along with his career and fight an actual opponent eligible to face him, one who holds an actual license.

So the promoter thinks Hughie vs. a guy with a 4-10 record would be a "competitive" fight? Wow.

The "skin problem" will be back when Hughie goes to camp in Netherlands or France and takes his father's special juice😜Hope Parker has VADA testing in the contract.

how can anybody take the WBO title seriously as the "heavyweight championship of the world" when the #1 contender is fighting six rounders against 4-10 competition?

Has the mandatory challenger even got a license to box ? Last I heard they'd been suspended. A stay busy fight on a promotion not even sanctioned a professional fight, this happens all the time right ?........

Didn't they try and spin that it wasn't sanctioned because officially he isn't allowed another fight prior to his mandatory with Parker?

All sounds like a load of bollocks either way. Fully expecting Parker to win, though there is a slim possibility that he gets robbed too as i'm not sure he'll be able to knock Hughie out.
