  • Should we thank Tyson Fury for making the heavyweight division interesting again?

When Wladamir was on top there really was no interest at all in the division as he had a boring style and was fighting mostly mandatory fighters we never heard of. His loss to Fury forced him to fight a young hungry fighter and also forced Joshua to step up most likely faster then he wanted to.

Fury broke the mold and then went full ****** making more fights available and more match ups happen. Hopefully we get Joshua-Wilder at the end of the year to solidify a unified champion and then maybe the savior of the division Fury can fight the winner of that fight.

So because that fight between him and Wlad was a terrible performance by both fighters and both looked bad, even if Tyson won.

Without Fury would this fight had happened?

I'd say he definitely opened up the possibility for the HW division to become very exciting again but in the end it'll be down to the fighters and the matchmaking to turn the potential exciting division into reality.

Now we have more champions thanks to Fury, which would make for good unification fights but the real question is are these guys going to fight each other or just be happy to keep their belts and avoid each other?

Also, Fury going off the rails and then being stripped opened the division up even more than him taking the belts in the first place.

Yes lets all thank Fury for putting in the most boring performance in a HW title fight second to only that of Wladimir vs Povetkin to then fail a drug test and pull out of yet another fight wasting everybodies time to then go on and watch the division heat up from the sidelines.

The saviour of the HW division!

The division is buzzing right now because of one man and it isn't Tyson Fury. It's the guy bringing mass attention back to boxing, delivering vicious, exciting performances in the ring and the guy whose fought five times since Tyson Fury last stepped inside of a ring.

Without that boring fight and him losing his belts these match ups we have now would have never occured.
