I think HBO is missing a great opportunity. They should have a wrap-up episode of its docu-series, "24/7". Who doesn't want to see how the boxers spent their time after they left the ring?
We are reduced to reading accounts, albeit good ones of Cotto being carried to his dressing room and then checking into a hospital.
We were teased by a few news station interviews with a bandaged Manny Pacquiao on the way to his post-fight concert.
Watching Miguel Cotto greeted upon his return to Puerto Rico would be fascinating. They could throw in some post-fight soul searching on the part of the losing trainer as he faces Cotto's family. I'd also like to see if Manny was coaxed to sing another version of "Sometimes When We Touch"
Ross Greenburg, HBO Sports czar is not one to miss a golden opportunity. The post-match "24/7" episode could be televised prior to the HBO re-broadcast of the fight this coming weekend.
Or to make more money, add $5.00 or even $10.00 to the PPV cost and have live cameras follow the fighters after they cut the gloves off. I for one would have loved to see clips of Manny in his wacky hat and taped-up face sing with his band at Mandalay Bay.
What do you all say?
