One simply needs to look at khans viewership track record to see he's always had the backing of the UK. For example, when he fought kindelan for the 2nd time that pulled in 6 million + viewers, granted it was on free tv (ITV) so his fanbase I.e. us Brits have always been a loyal fan base to our fighters.

So in turn to answer OP he's popular with Brits...Pakistani's are fans of his however they only are a fraction as they only make 1.4ish million people (if you go with off average growth since the 2011 census of 1.1m Pakistanis) So evidently it's the generic 'English' that back him.

Btw being a Pakistani born here, I have realised khan has a lot of haters amongst the 'Pakistani/Asian/Muslim' community.

He is the most known boxer in Britain and that makes him relevant. Ask mums, people you work with, or generally public who don't watch boxing and most 9f them will know AK. He's better known than even AJ.. But he obviously can't sell out venues/stadiums and do PPV like AJ but his name is name is bigger.

He was popular with Brits. His last fight in the UK had a 6k attendance. Most Brits now see Khan as a joke.

Yes he's known but not supported like he used to be. He isn't a draw like he was, viewed as a joke more than anything now.

Yes, if you see his comments from his facebook page, a lot of his support is from fellow Muslims. . . They're probably not even fans of boxing, just Amir.

Honestly a bunch of sadist people who like to see him getting put to sleep again.. It's been a while since he got put to coma by Canelo, so they kinda miss khan being in coma already..
