  • AJ is sacrificing MILLIONS choosing to fight Ruiz over Ortiz

Wilder is coming off 2 fights where he earned $20 million and Ortiz was his launching point.

Ortiz is respected by almost any boxing fan (except for aj fanboys) and the respect Wilder gained multiplied his money.

Ortiz asked to be paid a bit extra (which AJ would've made back from beating him ten fold)
And AJ ducked him like a ***** for Andy Ruiz who does NOTHING for his career. He will lose money by fighting Ruiz who Ortiz is FAR more respected than.

AJ is the highest paid boxer next to canelo. What wilder made in his last two fights, AJ is making fighting the unknown, fill-in Ruiz

That didn’t happen, he was offered 5 then 7mill which his team turned down for whatever reason they had at that time.
A lot of rewriting of history after Wilders win last night

These stupid posters never fail to make me laugh.

They always blame the wrong side due to pure hatred.

How many millions of dollars do you need to get a shot at multiple titles?

Ortiz made $500K in the Wilder fight and it was okay with you.

$7 million and a chance to dethrone the king is not enough?

        Man this is pure evil.

Why you became an adult with such out-of-whack moral values is beyond comprehension.

That's not the point, the point is Ruiz does NOTHING to increase his career earning rate, it does nothing for his legacy. It's a terrible business decision unless you're trying to protect your product.

Without Ortiz Wilder does not make $20 mill, Ortiz is an extremely valuable name to have.

Lol! Ortiz's own management came out and said they turned down the offers and regretted it after. Trash thread.

I would laugh so hard if Ruiz beat him. Won't happen though. Ruiz is there to do a job.

Ortiz would have came to fight. I think they declined due to drug testing issues.

To be fair to Joshua, it seems like Ortiz was already lined up as Wilder's next fight

This. Many don’t realize that Hearn and DAZN had insiders as to Wilder’s next PPV lineup for Showtime. Which they were trying to expose the priority of PBC. This way they could offer Ortiz the premium of AJ’s opponent + a higher raise.

The Ortiz offer was to expose the PBC schedule and allow AJ the pass for another fight after Ruiz who isn’t Wilder. Meanwhile DAZN continues to grow.

In a way both sides were exposed, but AJ is still A side.

Is someone trying to make out Ortiz was ducked by AJ? This is even after Ortiz own manager said publically that they were happy with the money offered by matchroom but their promoter refused to sign the deal?

I think AJ gets paid the same regardless of who the replacement was for this fight anyway? I think it’s flat from dazn (although he has shares so does benefit from subscriptions) and the uk h gets 30-40% of the ppv earnings. Whether it was Ruiz or Ortiz won’t make a big difference to sales in the uk in reality , the casual fan doesn’t know either of them
