Do you have that quote anywhere; I would love to read Duran telling off Fidel.

It's in Durans book "I am Duran".

Ali-Wilt is no better than Ali vs Jim Brown. The fight was brought up and as soon as Jim saw what he would have had to face he realized his place. These guys could no more compete with Ali in the ring than he could on a baskycourt or football field with them. It's entertaining to think about, but anyone EVER involved in the sport knows how it would have went. These we're money grubbing tactics at best. No meore, no less.

--- Brownie not half the athlete Wilt was and not trained by Cus.

Teofilo was prime with Ali clearly in decline. Those Cubanos had some strong American boxing connections through Cubano pro fighters to whip Teo into pro shape in a style to beat the limited ropadope style Ali was reduced to.

That was Cus' methodology in training Wilt in 1967. Train to beat a single style of one fighter knowing nobody else had a clue as to how wilt was going to use his vastly superior natural attributes and Ali could never find a sparring partner close to those attributes...the way it was...

Queen thought the same 20 years ago. A clear demonstration of his complete lack of understanding of the sport of boxing. A three round amateur hwt is not beating the greatest of all hwt champions near prime.

--- in 1976 Ali was in serious decline, not prime.

But, of course, you unfortunately never blessed with a prime...the way it was, is, and forever shall be...

The bout was proposed in 67 not 76. Again a non fighter is not beating Ali. Wilt was not a fighter. No experience taking punches. Every punch Ali would land would land full force as Wilt had no experience rolling with punches a skill only developed over time. If Ali wanted to end it in round one he would.

--- Wilt broke all the phony Cinderella rules you live by Princess.

Stevenson was feted for 76, and Wilt for 67 and twice more in the early 70s.

Ali backers could never come up with the$$$ to make a fortune, an unfortunate outcome that exposes your craven idolatry like Frazier did in fight 1.

Basketball players with zero boxing experience are not beating the Ali of 67 or 71. It does not matter how strong or how great an athlete the basketball player happens to be. Wilt was not a fighter.

A three round amateur no matter how good is not beating the Ali of 1976 who was perfectly comfortable going 12 or 15 rounds.

Incredible you have shown zero level of progress in twenty years. Your knowledge of the sport is still infantile.
