So, on Saturday night all Okolie had to do was make it to the final bell and the belt was his. He is one of Anthony Joshua's bumboys. However, the 3 points deducted from Okolie for cheating upset the apple cart and made the fixed scorecards read very wrong. Let's take a closer look:
John Foster: 116-110
Gave Matty Askin 2 rounds. So surely if Okolie won 10-2 on his card, it should read 115-110? Like... 118(-3)-110?
Ian John Lewis: 114-112
Gave Askin 4 rounds. So surely if Okolie won 8-4 on his card, it should read 113-112? Like... 116(-3)-112?
Steve Gray: 114-113
Gave Askin 5 rounds. So surely if Okolie won 7-5 on his card, it should read 112-113 in favour of Askin? Like... 115(-3)-113?
I did drink a few Guinness last night, so I may be missing something? Can someone explain how these scores make sense? Considering Okolie had 3 points deducted? Thanks.
