  • Where will these fighters and mw's be at 37? Will they be as good as ggg is now?

At 37 soon to be 38 in a couple months and still on the p4p list having close fights with peers 10 years younger than him. Where will the following fighters be at 37? Will they be as good as ggg is at 37? Or will they fade away into oblivion and be "past their prime" in their early 30's. I will save this thread for the future Only one I see on that list potentially dominating at 37 is crawford.

    1. Charlo
    2. Canelo
    3. Spence
    4. Crawford
    5. BJS

A lot of it comes down to genetics, lifestyle choices, style of fighting etc. hard to predict since we don’t see their day to day lives. Alcohol, bad sleeping patterns, shhhh genetics and inherited proneness to some health issues..etc.

triple fraud only fought uber drivers until he fought jacobs at 36. sooo other fighters are not cowards like him and will most likely retire before 37

          1) Golovkin is not dominating
          2) who cares... ? ... there is nothing special about 37

ATG criteria is... who did you beat?... not, can you still squeeze your gloves on when you are a OAP?

if Canelo retires at 30, with a better resume than Golovkin... then he will be regarded historically as a better fighter... /cool story

I am glad you brought that up because GGG does not get the credit he should for being as good as he is at his age. Everybody on that list will be retired and probably be completely done with boxing long before they are the age he is now. He was 36 when he lost a fight to Canelo than most thought he won. So turn it around and make GGG 28 and make Canelo 36 and it should be obvious that GGG would easily beat Canelo and the 28 year old GGG was a better fighter than Canelo ever was. When GGG was in his prime he knocked everybody out and his haters turned them into bums because he beat them so easily. But they were not bums but top 10 contenders by ring and boxrec. Many of the big names like Cotto, Saunders and Martinez flat refused to fight him.

He beat Canelo twice when he was 35 and 36 and Canelo was 27 and 28. He did not get the win because both fights were in Vegas where Canelo is so famous for getting gift decisions from paid off judges. GGG would have won both those fights in any neutral city. Canelo damn sure is not dominating. A home town draw and razor thin split decision home town win he should have lost is not dominating. Beating weak 13 to 1 underdog Fielding is not Dominating. Beating Jacobs no better than GGG already beat a better Jacobs is not dominating.Being popular and foling fools like you is not dominating. If he beats washed up old 5 to 1 underdog Kovalev he will not be dominating. If he retires today the fair minded fans will remember him as the guy who was afraid to rematch GGG after escaping with GGG;s titles by a poor home town split decision.

Bhop was beating better fighters in his mid 40’s so that’s a higher standard.
                BBB sides legacy is set.
Looked great against bums and guys on house arrest. HBO did a good job marketing him as a killer.
But we all saw what happened when he went against top guys in the division.
Jacobs went the distance and many felt did enough to win. People said Canelo would never fight him at 160 and wouldn’t last 5 rounds.
Got the draw the first go round and a clear victory in the second fight.
Chenko took him the distance and the crowd boo’d when he didn’t get the decision.
He’s not exactly dominating at 37.

Sure, if they never fight anyone like GGG did for most of his career, they'll be just fine.

Wait... Spence and especially Canelo are already off pace.

Canelo will be peaking soon. He won't be fighting at 36 37. He will get tagged more often at that point. Love the way the guy slips punches, but he's fatiguing in mid to late rds of fights with the help of the tainted meat. By the time he's past 35 he will tire even easier even with the needle advantage.
