Default Why did GGG want COTTO before Canelo or Quillin's WBO? Was the WBO a CURSE for GGG?

just remember that Ward - a former P4P #1 - coined ''Lil'G,'' and many heads have rinsed ''PEDNELO,'' so get widdit!

Seems like GGG was trolling. He credit his WBA Super, WBC Interim, and IBO as his ''3 belts'' pretending that 2/3 were official straps and acting naive.

GGG vs Canelo would've been a bigger fight than with Cotto. And most boxing heads knew Quillin wasn't on GGG's level. THe mysterious WBO that went to BJS (a non Haymon fighter with Warren), and then now with Hearn (Andrade).

I believe it was because Golovkin was the MANDATORY to Cotto. Had been waiting for Cotto and wanted to fight Cotto. He was paid step aside money to let Saul fight (at a catchweight) Cotto with Golo being PROMISED a fight vs the winner. BUT, Saul gave up the belts.

But remember, after Rubio, GGG still took step asides from Cotto so Canelo was still there. The PPV money fight with Canelo was always there for GGG and Canelo told fight hype that if GGG wanted a fight he’d have to come down to 155. So the mandatory was mute when the WBC acknowledged GGG taking step asides.

Therefore, why didn’t Golovkin call out Quillin’s WBO in 2014 since its a gem or road for Undisputed? Since when did GGG not want a WBO strap? Quillin was never a threat to GGG. So why didn’t Abel or Loeffler troll for Quillin’s WBO? Even if HBO wasn’t serious in the WBO, the network would still want GGG calling out Quillin’s name to flex Haymon. Cotto asked for 155 against Canelo fyi

Saul was/is the money guy, so my guess is that's why Golo wanted to fight him, along with Saul having the WBC. And you are partly correct on the catweightweight. Saul demanded 156, Cotto as the champ, wanted 155. They were both trying to 1 up eachother. In the end, Saul agreed to 155 only if he walked out 1st.

He wanted to fight the lineal champion which was Martinez, but Martinez fought and lost to Cotto.

He then wanted to fight Cotto but took step aside money so Cotto could then fight Canelo which was one of the biggest fights that could be made in the sport at the time and honestly didnít even need a belt to sell. If the mandatory was forced Cotto could have dropped the belt and nobody really would have cared.

Canít really remember why Quillin and GGG didnít fight outside of the other side of the road excuse but canít really remember if that fight was pushed for to hard outside of the fans.

You canít make this stuff up!

Therefore, did GGG forget about Quillin after beating Rubio when Max asked him about unifying titles?í He didnít mention Quillin or the WBO at all!

He obviously went for Canelo and the money once that fight started becoming more possible. Yet, he still had BJS as a backup in case the Canelo fight fell through. Wish he would've went after Saunders instead and didn't bow down to Oscar's demands. He called out Quillin after Geale though. And Quillin only fought once that year. He wanted that WBC belt too, which is why he kept calling out whoever had it. I think that belt mattered the most to him, at that time.

He tried to fight all the other middleweight champions at that. Anyone with a world middleweight title that he did not already own. He owned most of them. He tried to get Martinez to fight him but he would not fight. He also tried to get Saunders to fight but he refused to fight. When Cotto beat Martinez he tried to fight him but Cotto would not dream of fighting him and instead fought Geale at a catchweight of 157 and GGG had quickly stopped Geale not long before Cotto fought Geale. Then Cotto fought Canelo again at a catchweight and lost so GGG tried to fight Canelo. Cotto was the pretend middleweight champion. He won the title from cripple Martinez at a catchweight of 159. Then Cotto took a full year off before making Geale drain down to a 157 pound catchweight. Then Cotto fought Canelo at yet another catchweight of 155. So Cotto, the so called middleweight champion never fought at the full 160 pound middleweight limit. He was one of the worst middleweight champs ever. So much for lineal.
