Did Samsung open the doors with Virtual Reality gaming with the vr?

I know playstation is producing one currently but this one is fully functional and is out currently. I have it and I love the features. I have my own movie theater, it has a browser so I can watch new movies on there, and the games are really cool. The downside of it is you need a gamepad to play some of the games like into the dead. Have you guys messed with the samsung vr? Do you think this will be the future of gaming? How far along are we when all games are virtual reality?
