I think it should be banned period. Marriage is for a man and a woman, aka the only 2 genders that exist.

In the United States of America, same-sex marriage has been legal in all states, Washington, D.C., as well as all U.S. territories since June 26, 2015.
(with the exception of American Samoa and American Indian lands).

If their marriage is state-sanctioned, then they can adopt children, and that's a terrible injustice to those children.
But I don't think gays should be persecuted or harmed in any way. And they should not be discriminated against in the workplace. And they can marry in their own private, non-sanctioned ceremonies.
