who is his promoter? he was brought in as a tune-up for GGG, it's not K2's job to look after him. i think he'd do well on PBC; i'd give him a solid chance to upset the likes of eubank and jacobs

If I were Willie I would relocate to Europe asap. It's hard to come up as an American boxer these days. There just is no demand.

He definitely doesn't have Bradley's firefighter mentality, can't even control his own pocket.

Who'd like to watch him in Europe? Nobody. He has to fight, take all the fights he can get, don't complain and buy useless stuff you can't afford.

Fighters are protected and fights aren't made for a reason. If you lose you become less marketable, your record isn't as pretty on the networks during intros and a promoter will take a loss putting you on events at empty casinos. Fighters need to be groomed, promoted and built up the right way and that is:

          1. Early in your career, stay undefeated and take low risk fights
          2. Gradually step up your opposition and take the most dangerous fights later in your career when you are an established product with a real fan base.

Every fighter does this but Monroe tried to play hero and go against the norm. Now he has respect but no fights, no money and no interest from promoters.

Fans talk all that **** about fighting for legacy and trying to earn their respect but when fighters do that and fail they end up like Willie Monroe.
I really don't think it did nothing bad for him, Alot of fighters that lose like Monroe but get that big stage light are given more shots after a good showing. I'd like to see him back and if it's not Golovkin getting Tureano that's a good fight for Monroe if he doesn't mind stepping right back into the fire, maybe we should be blaming his promoter.

The part of the game a lot of NSB denziens never really understand. The guys that get f-cked the worst are good guys like willie who take risks and don't win.

He's too good for an up and comer and has too much boxing skill for an established guy to risk fighting him and losing.

"He's a baby" "it's his fault" and then people wonder why prospects dont take risks early in their career. Boxing fans continue to be the worst sports fans in the world.

Hope the kid can get sorted out. I believe he is a talent in the rough that can make some noise at middleweight.
