might be a little early to dismiss him out of hand. His losses were split or majority decisions to undefeated guys (solomon, gomez, etc). He's only 26, so there's still time for him to develop into a decent contender.....

Imam was already mandatory challenger to the WBC 140 title held by Viktor Postol (at worse he walks away with 25% of a purse bid, where he is walking into the process with a TV broadcaster interested enough in him to put him on at least a headlining ShoBox card).

Before laughing off the decision, you have to consider what the choice actually was; does Don King throw his arguably last prospect into the ring with Ruslan Provodnikov, for whatever amount of money, or does Don King choose to go with the 15:1 fight, headlining the SHO Extreme portion of the Montreal card, for $200k?

If Imam is as good as folks think he is, you take the Montreal fight every time.

Anyway at the time probably was right choice they believed Imam could make more if they kept him winning

Provo wouldn't need 100 punches a round to score a KO
Would like to know who was paying a thousand dollars for that fight too.

Who the hell still signs with Don King is the real question.

He's relevant now, similar to how Aron Martinez became relevant because he got robbed against Guerrero and then beat Alexander.
