How do you accidentally fire a weapon, I'll never understand.

Because accidents are gonna happen. Even police & military have accidents, they're human. Arming teachers only increases the chances of students being accidentally shot or killed.

I have never 'accidentally' fired a weapon.

Keep your fingers off the trigger until you are ready to fire is literally the first thing you learn in the military.

I'm not a cop, so I can't vouch but I'm sure they have the same rule.

That's universal rule, cops or not. But a lot still don't follow it.

Why is this guy a reserve cop then?!

How do you not know is your weapon is on safe. Why would his finger be on the trigger or even close? Why is the a round in the chamber when you're in a class with kids?

Currently yes.

My point is teachers are just your every day average person. This guy is a reserve police officer and even he made a mistake.

Imagine your every day math or science teacher?

I train with a glock and remington shotgun 870 regularly. Teachers don't, they have their hands full with teaching a class, and preparing to teach a class, and grading, etc.

Can their be teachers that also shoot as a hobby already? absolutely. But how common would that be?

If fathers aren't staying home, and parents are giving their kids smart phones with internet/texting access as a 10 year old...
Teachers are going to have to strap up to protect the kids in their classrooms. You're not going to see many little **** kinds bring firearms into the school if they know **** can get thick for them real quick.
