  • Who was the last old-fashioned fighter?

I'm talking a World champion who fought 5+ times a year? Had a total of 50+ fights?

Julio Cesar Chavez comes to mind, with a record of 107-6-2 (86 KO). He was active 1980 to 2005. Has there been anyone else more recent?

    James Toney

    90 fights. 77-10-3 (47kos)

    Marco Antonio Barrera

    74 fights. 67-7-0 (44kos)

    Wlad Klit

    69 fights. 64-5-0 (53kos)

    Manny Pac

    68 fights. 59-7-2 (38kos)

Then maybe guys like Morales, Marquez, Mosley?

Off the top of my head. Not sure about any modern champs with 100+ fights but im sure there are some

Can't really call Wlad "old school"

                Alvarez is a bum.
He gets handed belts for being popular, gets to make up his own weight rules. Is a bully, lacks heart and a duck
                etc...

Ginger is the polar opposite of old school

                Hopkins is a spoiler.
And quits by faking injuries all the time....

I'm definitely not a fan of Hopkins by any means. But he has a lengthy resume (albeit overrated), and felt he could fall into this category of fighter.

Yes I noticed the "stipulations" for this topic.
But grit and balls are always a factor when the term "old school"
                    gets thrown around
