Germany has a much lower corporate tax rate than the United States...which so happens to be where Monsanto is headquartered...or should I say, was. Don't get it twisted, however, both sides stand to gain, but when one realizes a certain level of profit and influence, tax breaks trump all else.

In EU we have the Brexit race to the bottom on corporate taxes... Belgium's lowering corporate tax to 20%, because AB INBEV threatened to move to England. France nationalizes its crown jewels, in an effort to counter automatization and job loss. Rich Russians, Europeans & Chinese keep snapping up American companies, so maybe the French have got it right.
