Not surprising...Erdogan's been trying to Islamicize the country since he's been there, but Turkey has a pretty decent secular heritage dating back to the post-ottoman period.

Pre-erdogan they were considered the leading example of democracy in that area of the world.

According to the military they just want to re-establish human rights, and democracy.

Turkey wouldn't join the Syrian war unless we wanted them to.

He didn't publicly apologize for anything, putin says he apologized And than putin lifted the sanctions just months after Turkey killed them dumb Russians.
