  • Do all heavyweights hit hard?

Might sound like a dumb question but you often hear the expression "when two trains collide..." "And anything can happen when big men are gitting with that sort of mass". Do all heavyweights hit with considerable power or do we have some featherfisted fighters like all other divisions?

Power is relative to each division so there are featherfisted heavyweights. Fighters like Eddie Chambers would be "hard" punchers if they were middleweights but aren't in the heavyweight division. That said, the top heavyweights tend to all have pretty good power - which isn't always the case in the lower divisions. This is usually the case at heavy because it's very important to be able to keep an opponent at bay when you're relatively speaking bigger in the ring.

All HWs hit hard, some just don't commit to their punches because they're afraid of being KO'd in the process.

You take a random strong 240 pound guy off the street and teach him how to punch for 10 minutes and he will hit hard...

Zuri Lawrence had 0 KO's, he was put in with a lot of good fighters too.
