I guess to be an actual superstar, you'd have to capitalize your recent biggest win and keep the momentum going. That's what Donaire did with his wins over Darchinyan and Montiel. That's how you create superstars.

Inoue has to look good in his subsequent fights and capitalize on that Donaire win. Otherwise, he'll just be joining the rest of the pack.

there is nothing inoue can do to escape it. it's already set in motion with the orbital fractures.i expect him to either lose very badly a year or so from now and/or fade into complete obscurity never to be the big star he was meant to be.

what's the donaire curse??? it's simple. every opponent who has beaten donaire ended up losing (badly) or fading into obscurity shortly after. never to reach the same heights they had before facing donaire.

• rigondeaux unfortunately faded quickly into obscurity and shunned by the boxing community
• walters ended up getting badly embarrassed and leaving the sport forever shortly after donaire
• magdaleno was badly KO'ed shortly after beating donaire
• frampton ended up getting badly beaten and bullied by warrington

now it's reported that inoue suffered a fractured eye socket from donaire fight. is this the beginning of the donaire curse??? is inoue doomed to lose badly a year from now???will top rank and arum greatly regret signing inoue??? what do you all believe?? what say you?

if anything losing to donaire is sometimes better for your career. darchinyan became unified champ at 115, hernan marquez became champ and #1 contender at flyweight, mthalane became a champ and still champ to this day, etc. etc.

the curse is true. none of the opponents who beat donaire ended up having good career afterwards, it was the very opposite.how come rigo didn't become a star after nonito??? even the frickin media called rigo boring and a waste of time while praising floyd.how come Walters never became a star either??struggled to make weight in his next fight, drew in the fight after that and then was absolutely embarrassed by loma. where did Walters power go?? did the curse take it away?????? magdaleno was a big rising young undefeated star. magdaleno beat donaire much easier than inoue did.but the curse made sure he got badly KO'ed in only his second defense of the title.frampton once a unified champ borderline top ten p4p (only 1competitive close loss to santa)was manhandled and badly hurt many times by the soft punching inexperienced warrington. did the curse takeaway framptons ability to take a punch to be a good fighter????

many people don't realize it but this is the beginning.i expect inoue to have 1 or 2 decent wins before the curse fully takes effect.the donaire curse sometimes has a way to decieve the cursed. they might have a nice win and think they are in the clear then BAM they lose very very badly (or something else happens to derail their career) and their career is all but over never to reach the same heights before facing donaire.
