When you say 'homes' here you actually mean empty and unused investment properties, many of which our owned by wealthy foreign nationals purely to profit from the UK housing market. I'm actually just fine with this - I think the housing crisis caused by the artificial inflation of house prices combined with a deliberate under provision of affordable housing is an obscenity. This country is seeing levels of homelessness increasingly affecting not just the traditional groups but even working families. I ain't seeing why empty properties shouldn't be appropriated to avert what amounts to a humanitarian crisis on a temporary basis provided the owners are reinbursed. Why the hell not?

The people who lost their homes and in some cases their lives need to be compensated heavily and rehoused immediately in the surrounding areas. If that means temporarily placing these unlucky souls in empty houses in such areas as Chelsea and Kensington, so ****ing be it.

What happened in grenfell tower was wholly unavoidable and the culprits need to be held to account.
