Nobody knew who Fielding was and Canelo drew over 20K in that same venue. Nobody knows who Ruiz is and Joshua did over 20K in that same venue just last week. they gave away thousands of free tickets and still 40% of that venue was empty. For a guy who is supposed to be one of the top draws in boxing and coming off a big PPV.

Exactly. Bob Arum would kill for these kind of numbers.

Really? Arum just did over 14K with Crawford in that same building. Isn't GGG supposed to be a much bigger star then Crawford is?

Canelo and Joshua are the two biggest draws in boxing. You are trying to make a point but failing. Nobody has ever said that GGG was as big of a star as those two guys.

This thread was meant to make GGG look bad but its doing the opposite, crap undercard, unknown fight and nobody even knew he was fighting but still that many people showed up....

He is a bigger star than Crawford. Its just that Khan was a guy who people had actually heard of. Steve Rolls was a complete nobody and they still did good numbers.

Really? So now Joshua who had never fought in the US is now a bigger star in the US then GGG? I've never heard anyone make that point before but its seem pretty clear now when we look at the gates. It really shows how dependent GGG is on Canelo. Fielding and Rolls probably sold as many tickets for their fights (which is little to none) but you see Canelo can fight anyone on any coast and still sell regardless of the opponent. GGG flopped last year without Canelo in Cali at the Stubhub and has now flopped without Canelo in NY at MSG. Now you see why he is begging for yet a 3rd fight.

Nobody expected GGG to sell out MSG vs Steve Rolls. Considering the circumstances I would say they did pretty well.

Fact Wilder, Joshua, Canelo, Crawford all just fought in NYC in the same exact venue or similar and higher attendance then GGG and all were huge favorites. I'm not even bringing up Spence who drew more against a nobody Ocampo. Is GGG really a big star anymore?

Then why did they put this fight a in venue that he only barely filled up half? They could of put this in a much smaller venue like the Stubhub...oh wait they tried that and he couldn't sell that out last year either. And GGG wants nothing to do with the west coast right now after his Mexican fanbase abandoned him. He is no more Mexican Style lol
