Apparently one only has first amendment rights if they agree with you. He's entitled to his opinion, even if it is wrong.

That bothers me. It seems like a slippery slope.
Having said that I am inclined to agree that if you want to deal with safety issues regarding the release of offenders you have to look at the fundamentals of sentencing, not simply add laws that allow you to change the rules after the event.

Most of the people who are afraid of the scaaaary New World Order are in favour of the death penalty. Is that a slippery slope towards executing minor property criminals? The slippery slope argument is a fallacy considering that most public order laws depend on drawing a line somewhere.
