I mean you might be able to melt things down to this guy or that guy, but I feel like when there is a biggest star its usually not debatable so is the #1 guy who you gotta argue is #1 really The Guy? There shouldn't be an argument. Wilder is pulling in more viewers than Broner now and selling way more tickets. He's also now headlining a major PPV. He's surpassed Broner. Wilder has over a million instagram followers now. He's very clearly the top American star right now.

Wilder's last fight did over 1.1 million traditional TV viewers on Showtime. Broner's last fight did 780k.

Wilder's last fight did over 14,000 fans at Barclays at very high ticket prices, second largest boxing crowd in Barclays history. Broner's last fight did under 14,000 fans at Barclays at much cheaper ticket prices.

Wilder and Broner are clearly PBC's most reliable draws, but Wilder has officially surpassed Broner as the biggest American star.

Yes, AJ is a bigger draw where he lives, just as Wilder is a bigger draw where he lives. But overall, AJ is the bigger draw by far. He is a PPV star in his market and while PPV prices are lower, he sells big numbers. He draws massive crowds and while ticket prices are lower, he grosses big numbers. There's really no debate that an AJ fight generates more money than a Wilder fight. Could that change someday? Maybe. Anything is possible and US PPV is the ultimate revenue stream. But yes it's very very clear AJ is the bigger draw.

As for who deserves to be ranked #1 at heavyweight, AJ is unified champion. If/when Wilder has both the most prestigious belt (WBC) *and* the lineal title, the argument becomes less clear. But right now, holding the WBA Super, IBF World and WBO World, AJ has solidified himself as #1.

AJ also has the stronger resume. Go look at the Boxrec ratings. AJ has nearly double the points of Wilder (who has nearly double the points of Povetkin).

At heavyweight, it's very rare for top 10 guys to face top 10 guys. AJ has consistently faced top 10 guys. No other heavyweight can say that.
