The KKK was strong in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but are weak nowadays. The Italian mafia was powerful from 1920 to 1960 but has been going downhill ever since.

The mafia you speak of I assume is only the one here because back in Italy it's still a powerful force. I'm all about this great country but damn brah don't generalize like we're the only one with an Italian (hint hint not from here) mafia.
