Cold sores are HSV1, Most people have HSV1 so I wouldn't worry. Just don't let someone go down on you if they have a cold sore cause then that becomes HSV2. Just cause someone has HSV1 doesn't mean they have HSV2. HSV1 is contagious though but is completely different from HSV2.

HSV2 is the one you should worry about. not HSV1.
