I bet you it's no coincidence they didn't announce this till after Joshua-Miller was announced.

It's a mandated fight though right? So it's possible they do a final purse bid and Top Rank wins? That would be interesting. Would Wilder go to ESPN or vacate? Or maybe the WBC would just say forget about it? Fury was robbed once in America so maybe he should push to win the purse bid and get the fight at least with his promoter.

Like everyone I know Fury won so for him it's likely no big deal. This probably makes him the second highest earner in the division though the fight with Joshua becomes very difficult to make. Or should I say - more difficult.

The cheater didnít win if he didnít want to fight all he had to simply do is say Iím not fighting Wilder next. Be professional. He was scared as he was nearly killed and probably suffered a brain injury also. He cheated and still nearly was put to sleep by a skinny man who was 50lbs lighter than him. Heís not a professional heís a cheater and shouldnít have even been able to fight Wilder with that crap he pulled with the wbc/Vada any other fighter does that and you people are ready to riot

Exactly what Fury said at the start of the year "with or without Wilder"

It's clear as day to me. They've known for a long time.

And also to act like signing with BOB ARUM isn't a massive roadblock for a fight with an Al Haymon fighter is also just insulting our intelligence beyond belief.
Oh yeah, a deal like this had to have been discussed for a good while. You could say they weren't negotiating in good faith if they kept this a secret for as long as they did as it was clearly going to be a roadblock.

Warren said some other comments like screw Wilder and we aren't waiting for anyone so it does seem like Fury will go against someone else. Because negotiating a deal between two different networks just doesn't get done in a few days or even a few weeks.

Either way, this will soon go to purse bid and let's see what happens. I can't see Wilder dropping his belt and Fury will need a belt to increase his negotiating power so still a chance the fight happens.

It took Wilder 12 rounds to catch up to him, scared the pillow fisted giant because he knows that it probably wouldn't take as long in the rematch. This is a typical tactic to extend the profit life of the Gypsy King because after getting sparked his $$ value will plummet as he'd be labeled as another on Wilder's KO list. AJ & Hearn are masters of this and the rest of the boxing/business world are taking notice.

I've always maintained Fury didn't want the rematch even as far back as the post fight interview. Fury is exactly like Floyd where they don't step in the ring with someone unless they feel like they have a huge edge over them. The funny thing is i believe Fury thought HE eas cherrypicking Wilder and the first fight, and after that fight THEY both saw something they didn't like.

I didn't like Fury's body language in the post-fight interview. He was avoiding the rematch question. Now we know why. Life goes on. We may miss out on a meaningful fight, but it's not an exciting fight. Fury is a boring fighter unless he's being knocked all over the canvas. I still hope it happens, but it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't.

Of course he did.....

Don't you remember what Shelly said about it being a 50-50 two fight deal?
Pretty sure Warren mentioned it too.

What we know is it wasn't 50-50 and we know there was no rematch agreement. Meaning they both lied.

Add to that the fact Warren and Fury had to get the authorities to order the fight, and then set the purse % with a deadline shows they actively tried to get the fight made.

If Shelly and co were doing what they said prior to the 1st fight then the only thing that was needed was a venue and date. Everything else was agreed when the first contract was signed.

So it turns out liars lied and people are actually surprised?

All that has happened here is that Warren has trumped Shelly. If Wilder was offered $80m on the basis there was actually no rematch clause as they claimed do you think he would turn that down?!

If I was Fury I would have done the same-thing. Get $10m-$15m for fighting Wilder and agreeing to all their terms again. Or taking $80m and doing what I want on my own terms?

If Wilder did what everyone said he was going to do and blitzed Fury into retirement it would have been Wilder getting a huge pay deal. He didn't and the fact Fury has shows the networks have more belief in Fury to generate more cash than Wilder.

The rematch should go to ESPN. Fury fought on Wilder's home network in the first fight and won imo. So Wilder should go to Fury's home network for the rematch.
