  • Ushering in the Drug Testing Era is a big part of Mayweather's legacy

From USADA to VADA to WBC's CBP to the WBA wanting to install something similar.

We went from an era where no one talked about drug testing, where some states didn't even do something as little as a post-fight piss test. Now fighters are demanding testing for all the fights, guys are popping positives left and right, and fans make judgments about fighters based on if they are doing VADA testing or are enrolled in WBC's CBP.

In less than a decade, we went from "let the commission handle the testing or you're a coward chicken" to "if he's not doing VADA then he's roiding and I don't count his accomplishments".

All of this was started by one man. The Best Ever, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mayweather's legacy in regards to drug testing will always be suspicious at best. Donaire may have actually been the pioneer as far as fighters go

He's not doing VADA, therefore he's roiding. Then Floyd Mayweather is not doing VADA, therefore he's roiding. He's the main reason why, most fighter insists on doing strict testing on a legit commission like VADA. because unlike USADA, a personal drug commission, it can be bribed. Mayweather's history about PED's is suspicious at best.

Yeah, the shift in opinions of some posters has been something to behold.

A psychologist should study the affect Floyd Mayweather had on NSB posters. The results would be fascinating.

Yeah the guy who accuses a s/c coach as a dirty coach for feeding his fighter peds and then goes and hired that same guy. Not to mention the shady 750ml of IV. Great example. What a stand up guy.

So USADA is good enough for the Olympics but not good enough for Floyd? What's next the US basketball team is on PED's?

                  On point.

Going back and seeing videos or reading articles from that time period of fans (and fighters too) who were against the additional testing is quite a treat. To watch folks be so obviously far on the wrong side of history both hilarious and painful at the same time.

You knew the tide had turned when the same initially 'anti-testing' crowd started opening thread after thread extolling the virtues of certain agencies (VADA) over others. And when Pac and Roach themselves started demanding random testing without from Marquez, you knew it was a wrap.
