  • Why do trainers give their fight this false undeserved confidence?

I'm bringing this point up because i just saw All Access . You hear Chepo say "Long live King Canelo" "The king is Dead" "Mayweather is no more" . You see it in reuben guerrero and Angel Garcia. It really gives their fighters a false confidence . Do you think that it effects the fighters in a negative way?

    Why not?
Confidence gives people the ability to do what they think they can't.
WTF do you expect him to say?
    Oh, you probably can't win

It's not false or undeserved. They're supposed to think they can win.

You're kidding yourself if you think Canelo and his trainer don't 100% believe that they're going to beat Mayweather.

As long as the boxer knows his strengths and limitations and what he needs to work on there is no reason why confidence would hurt. Problem comes when guys believe their own invincible warrior hype and end up getting KTFO

That's what Rocky's trainer used to do. "You're a bum, Rock!" Reverse psychology
