He could take a punch, he had great stamina, he hit hard, and he threw lotsa punches. All bad for Leonard.
There was no genuine offer or strong desire to fight Pryor.

Because if you actually did any research, you'd know Pryor regularly turned down fights. This notion of him behind some avoided bogeyman is revisionist tripe.

Pryor knew he'd lose to Leonard and was only prepared to fight him if the reward justified the risk, and for him it didn't.

I am talking about hbo replay but in some areas you could essentially ppv the fight.

Also there is a video floating around nsb where Pryor says he turned down an offer from srl. Not sure who posted it.

        No, I don't/didn't blame him.

However I sort of think that a decision to take less money and insist (as champion) on a smaller ring and especially 15rounds might have brought him more satisfaction and less bitterness in the long run!

This research your talking about, where can I find these sources? So Pryor wanted no part of Leonard apparently and would have rather fought on CBS for thousands against Gatean Hart instead of against Leonard for millions. It was Leonard who pursued Pryor hard, but Pryor didn't want to fight him? And because it was actually Pryor who had too much to lose?
Who's being revisonist here???????? No point carrying on this conversation we just disagree on "Chicken Pryor" and "Fight everyone at any time" Leonard.

I remember they replayed that fight on HBO repeatedly for almost 6 months.
Just can't see how Pryor would reject the fight and Leonard would actually want to fight a guy where it's too risky with nothing gain.

Talk sense gumbo...ferdie pacheco lol......the fight was over 15 rounds and leonard hunted him down and finished him..in fact hearns was carried out the ring back to his dressing room after the fight and emanual steward actually stated hearns was cooked..battered and beaten....in 1981 it was 15 round contests ....duran got whooped in the rematch because leonard boxed boxed him..when leonard boxed his fight he ran rings round duran...learn some knowledge gumbo

Pryor turned down an offer to fight leoanrd for 1 million dollars a career high purse for him as well.....its a falicy that leoanrd avoided pryor just because of that youtube video of pryor taking stage at leoanrds press conference.

Wrong. Hagler only started having success once Leonard slowed down and became more stationary and less active in the second half of the fight. And Hagler boxing out of an orthodox stance had never been an issue before because he was a natural switch-hitter.

And what Aaron Pryor situation? The one where Pryor ducked two offers to fight Leonard?
                    1. Everybody knows Hagler could switch hit effectively, that doesn't negate the fact that he struggled to do so against Leonard in that fight. You mention the "late rounds" but fail to mention that he fought exclusively southpaw in those rounds. There wasn't any point in the fight where boxing orthodox was successful for him.

                    2. Go look at the tape/articles/stories about the Pryor v. Leonard fiasco. Leonard didn't want anything to do with the Hawk, and when he finally got the offer, SRL had a detached retina.

Pryor turned down a million dollar offer to fight leonard ilate 1981 but pryor wanted a bigger purse.....leonard boxed two killers in hearns and duran and you think leonard was worried about pryor...come dude behave...it was just timing that was all
