Spence is clearly feared by many of the top guys. GGG was also clearly feared by many of the top guys regardless of what Hunter says or what spin you want to put on it. GGG and Spence are both great fighters who were and are feared and avoided by many fighters in their weight class. Why does it have to become a contest of which one is the most feared and why?

Has anyone heard Porter, Garcia, or Thurman complain about the money they'll get for fighting Spence? They've had every other excuse except money.

Yes, he was looked at as the risk not being worth the reward. But all 3 of the welterweights I named know they're gonna get paid well to fight Spence so the risk is worth the reward. So what's their excuse?

The three I named will get paid more than any GGG b-side has ever been paid. Yet they won't fight him

But Danny, Porter, and Thurman all know they'll make good money fighting Spence. So I don't understand their excuse for not fighting him. The risk is worth the reward
Surely Garcia and Thurman would be A Side in negotiations. Or they need to drag their promoters into court.

Porter has only one real L against Brook, but even with the better CV, he'd be a definite B side against any of the top 5.

Martinez was never a draw in the US.

And HBO offered him the same money for GGG as he got for Murray, and GGG would have gladly went to Argentina for the title shot that was rightfully his. But Martinez had fought Jr as a mandate (???.... diamond vs Green LMAO) and the WBC let Martinez fight Murray as a voluntary.

Murray proceeded to beat him 116/113 but was not credited with the KD and the judges gave Murray his second robbery.

Martinez hurt his knee late in the 11th and was then rumored to retire as emeritus.
Rubio got the interim, Martinez was allowed the Cotto fight and the rest is history.

            As for Alvarez dropping....

The WBC allowed him to leap frog GGG than take a voluntary, then finally ordered the pursebid.

K2 was prepared to make all concessions and GGG asked for 8 flat or 17% PPV+ 50% gate and 158.

GBP just didn't have the millions in cash for the 3 prefilled cards.
Cost Oscar more than they made for JK, MC, and AK just to get the bread for those scores.

              I read Dan's tweet too.

That's a base for sure. And probably just the HBO share.
The WBA made him their #1 contender as DJ, CEJ were reluctant to make the fight.

No one is ducking Spence just yet. If, by early 2019 Thurman, Garcia or Porter have not fought him, then yes they are in fact ducking him. No excuses, especially since they are all signed under Haymon.

First of all that dropping down to 154 for Floyd and going up to 168 for anybody except Ward was nothing but a marketing ploy.

Secondly Martinez didn't duck him. Tom Loeffler said it himself.

In Thurman's mind Spence is his superbowl mega fight. dont expect that no time soon. but just because a fight doesn't happen on YOUR schedule doesn't mean anybody is scared. Floyd made Pac wait almost a decade. that proved people are patient no matter what they say. all that crap about boycotts went out the window when it was announced.

if Keith sees major money in building the Spence fight into a crossover attraction then let him handle his business. if they fight this year its just another Postol/Crawford. a huge fight only hardcore boxing fans care about.

Thurman is coming off a potentially career altering injury.

He's also got unfinished business with Porter, who most thought won 7 rds.
All three make great money just fighting. Porter because he's in with top 5 after top 5.
Garcia because of his vocal East Coast and boriqua fanbase.
Thurman because he's been on top of the division since Floyd and Manny were making arrangements.

Just wanted to ask if Showtime has signed Spence to a multi fight multi mil contract, and how it stacks up to GGGs.
