  • Boxing officially ranked 75th most dangerous sport

But she said boxing's safety record had improved and it was now ranked 75th by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents on its list of the most dangerous sports, behind rollerblading, gymnastics and horse riding.
Also according to this boxing isn't even one of the top worries for brain trauma, though they do give it special mention for no particular reason.

And apparently statistics don't lie, surlely they have to account how many people actually participate in boxing, As oppose to the larger number of people playing american football and horse riding.

Soccer is really dangerous. You could get a serious burn if you slide too long. And if someone slide tackles you, LOOK OUT! You may never walk again until they give you a penalty kick!

I doubt there are more people in horse racing. Being a rich person's sport it isn't very accessible. There 20k pro boxers in the world and an almost uncountable number of amateurs. There are 50k FEMALE boxers in the UK alone. I think I remember hearing something like 70k male amateur boxers in Canada. A google search shows there are around 1,696 pro football players in the NFL.

Can't not agree with this because half of this I do not consider a sport. Horse Racing, Motor Sports(hobbie), Ice Skating, Roller Skating... Get out of here!

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents in the UK made the list. Better than ESPN. Also ESPN seem to endorse boxing in a lot of their lists. They might have done it to make it seem more hardcore to them young people.
