  • Why do MMA fighters have poor stamina

McGregor, despite being more conservative, gassed hard yet again by the second round. How can he expect to compete with Mayweather when he can't last two rounds. I guess it answers the question are MMA fighters just failed boxers.

    Cliffs:
    MMA fighters have chit stamina

Not all do, McGregor was tense and was still loading up a little... There are some wrestlers who make guys like Canelo's stamina look horrible by comparison.

Conor doesn't usually go 5 rounds and he had extra weight on him. He actually did pretty good when you put all that together.

As for bringing up Floyd, keep mind, MMA rounds are longer than boxing rounds and there's a lot more going on in MMA fights compared to boxing. Don't think for a second Floyd would be able to hang with somebody like Conor in a MMA match.

People underestimate how grueling the clinch game is in MMA. Pressing your opponent against the cage and smothering them takes a lot out of a fighter. That's what Diaz did. He couldn't compete with Conor on the outside so he started making the fight ugly. Plus they fight 5 minute rounds as opposed to 3 minute rounds that makes a difference. It's not like they don't run or do any cardio it's just that elements of the MMA game(grappling, wrestling) are really draining and you can't always prepare for that.

Exactly. Conor was tired when the fight was basically all stand up before Diaz even pressed him against the fence. I watch the big fights in MMA but overall it's pretty sloppy.

The "MMA fighters are just failed Boxers" bit is a load of trash. It's a very ignorant thing to say.

99% of MMA fighters never touched a Boxing glove in their youth, until they started training for MMA and now the younger guys coming up are training MMA from the start.
