The problem is these small time fighters think they can promote themselves.. Being a promoter requires skill.. Boxers have boxing skills.. Doesn't mean they can be promoters or lawers or advisors. You do know Hearn has a way way way bigger fanbase and social media following than many of these fighters like Charlo? What's more is Matchroom is a £100+million company in the UK alone and they have a budget of 1 billion from DAZN USA.. They have the funds to properly back, advertise and promote fighters. Just because Mayweather did it doesn't mean everyone can.. Remember Mayweather was built up by the best promoters at the time (Arum and GBP).. Do you think he'd be this successful if he started with Mayweather promotions from his first fight. In fact Mayweather promotions as a promotional company is failing.. He can promote himself but even with Ellebe as a head promoter they are struggling and their biggest fighter (Gervonta) wasn't happy with them.

You need a promotional machine behind you especially if you're small and even when you're huge. Why do you think AJ and Canelo the biggest fighters have promoters? They are big enough to go about it themselves and make Canelo promotions or AJ promotions.. Matchroom employs over 60 staff to make sure fighters are promoted properly and the fight ticket sells out.. This isn't about Charlo going on social media and sending some tweets to promote himself and tickets.

Even Wilder who is going to DAZN as a free agent with his bombsquad promotion, I guarantee he will have a promoter for his fights (maybe Lou Dibella) because promoting isn't just coming up with a promotional name. And when it comes to promoting, hate him or love him.. Hearn is the best promoter out there! So when you're career depends on it why would you want anyone other than the best to promote you? And what makes these fighters think they can become promoters? They should focus on throwing punches and let those who studied and spent their life's promoting do the promotion bit.

How is Hearn the best promoter over Arum or Golden Boy? Who did he promote to worldwide fame? Most Americans don't even know Joshua or who Hearn is. Even some of the hardcores here call him Hearns!

Hearn Jr. has to follow daddy’s orders. Hearn Sr. is deep and part of the executive crews that have always overseen Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Arena or Sky Sports Box Office. We all know the TV and Cable business, that’s where all the money is. Who knows how many shares the Hearn family has with Sky assets. The UK can still watch “DAZN fights.” It’s just rebranded differently, but it’s essentially a Sky broadcasted event, and their own commentary off Sky is most likely the preference over DAZN’s.

I could be totally wrong. When the UK watched Canelo Fielding, did Sky have DAZN logos or headers off the tele aside from Sky, and was there Sky commentary?
