there is a thing called commotio cordis but i've never heard of it happening in MMA (never listened to hear)

it happens maybe once or twice a year in baseball, usually little league

and when a kid takes a line drive to the chest the force actually disrupts the rythm of the heart... not good

but this is MMA and they are adults
