I don't hate on Floyd...he was great imo...only real close fight I saw of his was vs JLC and I thought it was a 7-5 either way fight with an edge to Floyd...never watched a lot of his fights though, such as the ODLH and full Maidana fights which some mention...I thought he beat Pac 8-4 pretty clearly though.

But yeah he certainly won like 11-1 on cards in a lot of fights where he deserved 8-4 or so...my view anyway.

I think the McGregor fight is a good example of it...Floyd pretty clearly lost the first 3 rounds...he hardly threw a punch...and 2 of 3 judges gave him 2 of those rounds.

He was the A-side in boxing/Vegas and made everyone rich when he fought...to beat him you had to KO him...and he just got great cards in Vegas because he made everyone so rich.

Still a great fighter though just was protected in that sense.
Definitely protected

Canelo 1 might have - maybe - been a 7-5 win, but the 6-7 draw was fine.

And Canelo 2 was a loss or a draw in best case scenario

Dervenchenko beat GGG but the judges fancy a megafight Canelo 3 so they gave it to GGG

Jacobs deserved a rematch that he didnt get as that fight was 6-6

Everytime Ggg fought live opponents and not fringe contenders like Rolls or Monroe Jr or Vanes...he looked very ordinary.

People say it was because he was old, but he brought that on himself 100% sadly.

And GGG challenged Ward at 168 then changed his offer to 164 once Ward accepted. Despite GGG still saying he would fight Froch and JCC Jr at 168.....not a "duck" though.....
I thought he beat Jacobs but lost to Derev. Canelo he beat twice. Golovkin was the Champion. He is under no obligation to cut weight for a challenger that doesn't want to make the 160 weight limit. There is nothing sad about it. What's sad is challengers not having the balls to move up and say I'm the best. Canelo to his credit finally stopped playing the weight game delaying tactics and did what real champions do and took the fight without weight draining his opponent. Could you imagine Micheal Spinks, Duran etc. putting a weight restriction on Holmes and Leonard. People would have been all over them with negative criticism. What is astonishing is the mindset of fans that think this is OK. Now if the Ward fight went through and Golovkin beat him at 164 I wouldn't consider him a real 168 pound champion. It's ridiculous. If you want the title fight under the rules of the sanctioning organization.

You’re confused. There is no “rule” for fighters to CAP at the limit. Lol

Also, you’re completely dismissing the IBF 10lbs more rule. That is technically a weight clause.

Golovkin never dared to be great. He was just manipulated by his mgmt while they used the “break Bhops record” when in actuality they didn’t want to lose their investment and profits while milking 160.

Canelo started pro at Super LW but a casual fans like you I don’t expect much from. Make us laugh at you talking boxing and I’m good.

I think you are the one confused. Middleweight is capped at 160 pounds. No one is obligated under the rules to come in at a weight below that. It's been that way as long as Ive followed boxing. Regarding the IBF it's a part of their regulations it isn't made up by the managers, attorneys and promoters of the fighters involved. Like I said if you want to be considered the champion of a sanctioning body follow the rules of the sanctioning body.

What I said and have been saying as long as I've been interested in boxing is this. If you want to be considered the champion in a weight class follow the rules of the sanctioning body that the tile is in. It's not complicated. Don't know why you are pretending not to understand.

Lol. You think boxing is literal with one NUMBER that represents the “Middle” from Minimum to Heavy? It simply suggests the CAP!

“Middleweight” = 155-160

There is no “160 Weight Title”

If a fighter comes in at 156 while the other tips at 160, who’s the “Middleweight?”

“Canelo weight” weren’t “catchweights” with the only exception to KHAN WHO NEEDED it. Are we to say that Canelo should’ve fought Kirkland, Angulo or Lara anywhere in between 155-160? Were Angulo, Kirkland and Lara considered threats at higher weights that Canelo need 155?

Canelo consistently fought at 154-155 since before GGG. If Floyd was allowed to stay at 147 because of merit and not defend his 154 title then I don’t see what the deal is with Canelo doing his business in fair fights at 155.

At the same time you GGG cheerleaders blasted any criticism and gave excuses for “154-168 is easy” while you cry about others.

Mayne... that’s gay..

And a sanctioning body isn’t going to say that 155-159 isn’t Middleweight. That’s up to the fighters.
