  • Kudos to Max Kellerman for putting the sport of boxing on blast!

He had this to say following last wknds BAD telecast:

"Certain promoters, like Top Rank and Golden Boy," Max said, "are forming their own sort of quasi leagues." This is why, he said, when Manny-Money negotiations break down, you get Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey, who are both under the Top Rank umbrella, which turned out to be less than scintillating, as Clottey proved himself not to be up to the challenge.

Kellerman also mentioned the case of Amir Khan, who fights for Golden Boy. He said that we've heard Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander issue challenges to Khan, but "Golden Boy seems mostly interested in putting Amir in with other Golden Boy fighters, at the moment. So as a result we don't get the tournament we'd like to see at 140 pounds."

It is true though wether you like Max or not.
    It's hurting the sport.
Arum just doesn't do that with Pac too he does that with a lot of his fighters.

he does that when his fighters become big. if they lose, he wants to be able to promote the guy they lose to. i can understand it, but it's not in the best interest of the sport, its in the best interest of bob arum. greed, personified.

yeah Max Kellerman was right for calling them out

that is why Boxing need a Commissioner or something and not some bull**** Athletic Commission in ever state, a bunch of guys who can be paid off by Promoters so the Promoters can have their way, they need somebody that can step in and talk control away from these Promoters who are running and RUINING boxing right now

stop letting guys buy their way out of Mandatory Defenses

once you reach Pacman and Mayweather status that is different, BUT when your a young up and coming fighter trying to make demands and pick and choose fighters like Amir Khan...THAT IS BULL****! and it BAD FOR THE SPORT

          don't all promoters do that?

shaw wouldn't let vic fight donaire. for sure shaw isn't gonna put angulo in w/ martinez.

the only times they are gonna fight outside their stables is if they are highly confident that their fighter is gonna win, or if there too much money on the table to walk away.

that is why I'm all in favor for HBO and Showtime forcing these mutha****ers into tournaments like the super 6

HBO and Showtime can't force fighters to fight anybody. end of the day, it's up to the promoters to choose opponents.

also GBP, Shaw, Dibella, and mutha****as like them can't put on a show without HBO or Showtime money.

the only real promoter left if Arum.

                  Rumble, Young Man Rumble!

Kellerman is a straight G for calling them out and I'm damn glad he did! It takes some balls to put whole promotions businesses like that on blast knowing your job as a young commentator isn't necessarily on lockdown. These promotion groups really are destroying boxing and at least someone aint afraid to let it be known. WAR KELLERMAN!
